In 2014, Payette Brewing adopted Polecat Loop in the Boise Foothills Ridge to Rivers Trail System. We “Payette Forward” with our bi-annual maintenance and clean-up to preserve the trails for all the bikers, hikers and trail runners. Yesterday, under the supervision of Trail Crew staff, ten Payette Brewing employees headed out the Foothills for an afternoon of trail maintenance with buckets, shovels and McLeods in tow. Ridge to River staff members Sam and Matt spent a couple hours with our crew teaching us how to repair the trail damage, why the damage occurs and more about the history of the trails. We then ended the afternoon with a couple beers, of course.
May is here and summer is near – with the fresh maintenance on the trails, it’s the perfect opportunity to get outside and see what Boise has to offer. We suggest brining a six-pack with you!
“The Polecat Trail system was developed in 2007. It contains over 7 miles of winding single track trails that offer outstanding views of the Treasure Valley as well as the Boise Ridgeline. Trails in this area cross through lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the City of Boise, as well as private property through an easement. Please stay only on system trails. The Polecat Reserve trails are excellent beginner trails for mountain bikers, due to their relatively easy grades.”
